Maine Arts Academy is a charter public school -serving students in grades 7-12 - drawing young people from across Maine to its campus in Augusta. Now in its tenth year, the school pairs a rigorous academic program with a comprehensive visual and performing arts education, offering disciplines that range from theater, dance, and music to photography, film, digital art, and visual arts. Maine Arts Academy is known for being a welcoming place where students feel they belong — many arrive with little arts experience and discover a passion that builds their confidence and connection to school. Students apply their learning in the wider community, with numerous opportunities each year to perform and exhibit their work at galleries, theaters, colleges, and venues throughout the region. Academically, the school holds high expectations while meeting students where they are, offering on-campus college courses and a growing slate of Advanced Placement options alongside strong support for every learner. Housed in a newly renovated Augusta facility and guided by an experienced Board of Directors, Maine Arts Academy offers a distinctive home for students who want to grow as both scholars and artists.
